Cambridge exams for young learners
Pre A1 Starters · A1 Movers · A2 Flyers. Private one-to-one preparation that gives young learners the confidence, skills and exam technique they need to succeed.
Every course is fully personalised to the individual student. After an initial assessment we design a focused weekly plan that targets the exact areas your child needs to improve, whether that is listening accuracy, reading comprehension, written expression or spoken fluency. There is no generic syllabus. Lessons move at the pace that produces the strongest results for your child.
Weekly progress on each skill is carefully tracked and recorded so parents can see exactly how their child is improving. Full practice tests are set as homework, marked in detail, and reviewed in the following lesson with clear explanations and targeted feedback. Weak areas receive extra attention immediately, ensuring no gaps are left unaddressed.
Course structure
- 12 private one-to-one lessons for each exam level
- 30, 45, or 60 minutes per lesson, depending on level
- Course duration: 6 to 8 weeks
What is covered
All three papers of the exam, plus vocabulary, are trained thoroughly and systematically.
Listening
Students learn to follow instructions, conversations and short monologues under the same timing and conditions as the exam. We train careful listening for key details, not just overall meaning, and practise the question types that appear at each level so nothing on the paper feels unfamiliar.
Reading and Writing
Comprehension, spelling, sentence building and short written responses are built on a strong vocabulary base. Lessons move from reading for exact meaning to producing clear, accurate answers in the formats the exam expects, with spelling and wording checked carefully every week.
Speaking
Clear pronunciation, confident interaction, describing pictures, answering questions and expressing simple ideas. Students rehearse the speaking tasks in exam order, with focused feedback on clarity, vocabulary and fluency so they can perform calmly on the day.
Vocabulary
A strong vocabulary helps students succeed in every part of the exam. Children who know the official word lists follow Listening tasks with more confidence, complete Reading and Writing with greater accuracy, and find the right words more easily when they speak. They learn the words themselves, not only what they can pick up from pictures or surrounding clues. In every lesson we learn, recycle and drill the target vocabulary until recognition, meaning and spelling are automatic, then revisit weak items before the next paper practice.
